Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh is one of the main center of business & Culture activities in central India. Raipur was established by the Kalchuri rules, nearly 1400 years ago. The capital represents the culture of Chhattisgarh, Even during the British rule, Raipur was the center of attraction in the whole of Chhattisgarh, where the state level administration was being carried on. After being declared as the capital of Chhattisgarh state, the overall development of the city has been very rapid, it is situated on the national highway No.6, Air flight direct to Delhi, Mumbai & Nagpur. The capital is directly connected by rail to cities like Mumbai, Kolkatta, Dhanbad, Delhi, Amritsar, Nagpur, Pune, Cochin, Patna etc. It is one of the India’s biggest iron market, there are more then 170 steel rolling mils, 5 sponge iron plants. 17 ferro alloy plants and around 300 rice mills. Chhattisgarh is the biggest cement-producing region in the country. All renowned companies have there offices in Raipur. Raipur has big jewellery market in central India, with a famous name like Anoopchand Tilokchand Jewellers have their office in metropolis. Raipur has many more tourist attractions in & around the city.

Nagpura: - 55 k.m. from Raipur beautiful Jain temple, Parshva Tirth is located here.

Bhoramdeo:- Beautiful ancient temple like Khajurao at a distance of 75 k.m.

Jagannath Puri:- Nearly 700 k.m. from Raipur, Puri is the world famous religious city, with direst air, rail and road connections.

Barnawapara:- (Reserve Forest) 100 k.m.away from Raipur Barnawapara is central India’s reserve forest. One can enjoy wild life here.

  Dear Lion Leader, Recognition is by far the greatest motivation for a Lion, Lioness. We are not here for any monetary rewards or business enhancement. Yet we continue to work ... not for ourselves but for the community. At the multiple too, we would recognize good work with a little award. Be it your district, your club or you as an individual there is an opportunity awaiting you. An opportunity that can proclaim U as the best in Multiple District 323. Our Multiple Chairman for Awards, Lion V. K. Shetty ably asisted by Lion Prasad Panvalkar has taken great pains to design the Award Criteria that is enclosed. Shetty Multiple Awards Chairman 2001-02 Dear Lion Leader, Seasons Greetings! on my personal behalf to all of you and I wish an excellent year of leadership for the Lionistic Year 2001-2002. I did mention in the last Multiple Council Meeting that my assignment by the Multiple Council Chairman will be more of a criticisum for the reason our Committe is unable to present awards to all the participants. But in my opinion, selection of the participants from the respective District of our Multiple itself is a great achievement. You can believe me the participants are one amongst the thousands of Lions of your District who could achieve this success. It is my previledge first to congratulate the participants for their achievement & then let us join the competition of Multiple Award. It is very simple if you follow the guide -lines provided to each competition. But you must ensure to send your Intimation Entry Form for the participation at the earliest. Thereafter prepare your presentation docket with an Activity Summary Form as per the format given so that it will attract the nominated judges to select you as one of the awardee.   RESUME ON AWARDS CRITERIA - MD 323 Awards will be presented at `29th Multiple District Annual Convention' at Raipur. Intimation of participants for the Award contest must reach on or before 31 March, 2002 to the Office of the Multiple Council Chairman/Chairman Multiple Awards, any entry after that will not be considered. (Specimen format enclosed.) All intimations received till 31st March 2002 will be informed to the respective district governor before 15th April,2002 by Multiple Council Chairman. Entries received after 31st March,2002 will not be entertained. Award Entry Form must be authorised by the respective District Governors. (Specimen format enclosed.) Activity Summary Form duly filled and authorised by the respective District Governor must be attached alongwith Award Entry Form in Docket.(Specimen format enclosed.) Presentation of documents must reach Multiple Award Committee as per schedule given by Multiple Council Chairman. There will be only one Award for each category. For each Award give only pointwise information with necessary documentary evidence without preparing ornamental scrap books. Total report should not exceed more than 20 pages for individual awards and 40 pages for District and Club Awards including all Annexures except in case of scrap book, size of presentation should not be more than 15"x22". One candidate will be nominated by the District for the individual Awards. You have to be present in person at the time and venue fixed for the Award Scrutiny. No extension of time is granted, rather, it is marked as absent and the judges will declare their result. Any Entry/Document/Docket not confirming to the award will be disqualified without any reference. All Rotating Trophies presented earlier must be returned back by the participants on or before 31st March,2002 to the Multiple Council Chairman, through their respective District Governor. Special Rotating Trophy sponsored by District Governor Lion Madanbhai Sura of District 323B2 for increasing highest membership in the Multiple District 323 will be presented.

LION I.P.SHAH BEST PRESIDENT AWARD • One Candidate will be nominated by the District and will be selected for this award on the basis of an interview with the Selection Committe (Council of Governors) and Chairman. He she will be judged on the following: a) Performance as a President: for which the Candidate will be required to submit a file containing various communications carried out by him with the Club Members and concerned officers and Question - Answer session for the same. b) Knowledge of Lionism (Restricted to the scope of Presidential duties and responsibilities.) c) Leadership Qualities (Question/Answer session) 2. MINOO J.D.ENGINEER BEST LION SECRETARY AWARD • One Candidate will be nominated by the District and will be selected for this award on the basis of an interview with the Selection Committe (Council of Governors) and Chairman. He she will be judged on the following : • Performance as a Club Secretary. a) for which the Candidate will be required to submit a file containing various communications (including MM Report ) carried out by him with the Members and concerned Officers and Questions. b) Knowledge on Lionism (Constitution, History, Activities of Lionism, Administrative Aspects and current Affairs of District. Multiple, LCCI and International). c) Involvement as Club Secretary in attaining the Targest and Goals of the Club. 3. BEST ZONE CHAIRMAN OF THE MULTIPLE • Presentation of file containing the following : a) Copy of regular Circulars, Bulletins issued to Clubs of his zone. b) Minutes of zonal staff meeting • Membership Growth and Retention in the Zone and New Club Extension in the Zone and attainment of District Goals and Targets. • Presentation of a brief report on Zone Social (not exceeding 10 single pages of A4 size including all annexures.) 8.
